This course is designed to introduce students to the effective preparation and use of accounting information in health services organizations. Emphasis is placed on basic accounting concepts, preparation, interpretation and analysis of financial statements, and financial planning and control. Excel spreadsheets and Internet will be utilized in the course. This course will also provide the opportunity to become familiar with the Excel environment and performing basic spreadsheet operations; such as entering text, values and formulas, built-in functions, formatting and charting.
